Down To Earth Breathwork & Movement

Helping Curious Parents Find Calm and Joy.

What’s this “Breathwork” all about?

If you had told me 5 years ago I’d be telling people to breathe for a living I’d of laughed and told you to pour me another wine.

But, after loosing two family members and gaining two (during a pandemic), I was left experiencing the depths of grief from every angle. Discovering Breathwork helped me to grieve, become the parent I want for my kids and kept me sane (all still a work in progress of course!).

Im Nicola and for over 18 years I’ve provided care and support for a variety of people. I find joy in being of service to people.

Now, through Conscious Connected Breathwork I’m supporting people who are grieving and finding their way as a parent. Grief not only comes from the loss of people, it can also come from the loss of anything that is important to us. It can come from any change in our lives and life and death bring about huge changes.

Breathwork Can Help You…

Respond rather than react -

Parenting is hard, it’s the hardest job there is. So many times I’ve lost my cool with the kids and I’ve overreacted in ways I wished I hadn’t. I’ve felt overwhelmed and shouted more often than I’d like. Breathwork helps you come from a place of patience and love more regularly, so that you can respond in ways which you’d rather. It’s a practice though & something that I’ll be working on forever no doubt!

Make time for yourself -

Time for myself? yeah right. But 5 minutes is all it takes to work on regulating your nervous system, which helps you to feel calmer, ready to face the challenges of the day and show your kids the best version of yourself. I’ve seen first hand the positive ripple effects on my children from me taking 5 minutes to consciously breathe.

Navigate Loss -

Grief comes in all shapes and sizes. Most obviously loss of life. But actually we grieve anything that means a lot to us that we lose. Including careers, missed experiences, parts of our personalities. Being a parent changes a lot. Breathwork helps you navigate these changes with grace, compassion and understanding. Breathwork can also help you navigate the pain from being bereaved. It has helped me so much on my grieving journey to allow myself time to feel the pain. This has helped me process my grief in a more compassionate way.
